It goes without saying, that when you go to the beach you have to take walks. I don’t know how many thousands of footprints I’ve left in the sand here at the Beach House but it is pretty cool to know that my children are leaving theirs now, too.
Walking on the logs, being a ‘Balancing Zucchini’ (if your children watch Curious George, maybe you know where that phrase comes from), was Gage’s entertainment during most of our walks…
As was looking for crabs under the rocks…
And climbing on the cliffs… (especially when Cooper was napping so he didn’t “try to be such a big boy”)…
Between Hank (seen here in the Moby), Kaden and Cooper, seemed like my mom was always carrying someone on our walks, which I’m sure only added to her shin splints.
Once word gets out that you’re going on a walk, there is always likely to be some stragglers, running to catch up…
As children we spent these walks climbing on the logs, scaling the rocky cliffs, and searching for agates and ‘treasures’ (little bitty shells) and as teenagers we giggled about boys and discussed school and sports and TV shows.
Now as adults we spend these walks talking about our children and about motherhood. A lot of history has been covered along this beach… our entire lives have spanned this shore.

Lacey you got some great shots here - Karen would be proud! And you tell a great story too. (LOVE the one of your son being all cool on the cliff with his shades! too cute!)
