Oh, How They Support Their Mama…

I had a pretty amazing weekend… the weather was beautiful, good moods were in abundance, and I had TWO photo-shoots! To be a Stay-at-Home-Mama is to rarely get away… to rarely miss your children and to rarely be missed.  So being gone for half of the weekend, on my own, leaving Matt and the boys to fend for themselves, was a big deal.  Walking out the door on Saturday with Cooper crying that he’d miss me was a BIG DEAL.

But bigger than anything, was the encouragement and support I received from them … not just about being gone so much just this weekend.  That was great… but even more than that, it was like being given a huge push from them, toward my dream as a whole. Toward doing something more with photography.  In fact, Matt may very well be more supportive of my photography endeavors than I am!  Case in point… I mentioned to him that a support system for my backdrops would be really helpful for the newborn session I was doing on Saturday.

And what does he do, but rally his boys and throw one together…         Oct-14-2010_3611E Oct-14-2010_3613E Oct-14-2010_3615E Oct-14-2010_3616E Oct-14-2010_3623ECoopersawingBuilding1Building2

{I’m bonking myself on the head for not getting a photo of this contraption in action on Saturday, but hopefully soon I’ll be sharing the photos that resulted from its handiness.}

I was absolutely giddy when leaving my shoots this weekend; my head racing with possibilities about the future, from simply the post-processing to how-on-earth can I get my hands on more clients.  It was a totally new feeling for me to be so pumped up … if I didn’t know better I’d say it was an adrenalin rush! And that feeling was ONLY possible because I knew that I had my family’s support. I was OVER-joyed by it all.

But let me tell you what… my feelings of joy were multiplied 4-times-over when I was welcomed back home by my 4 guys. What could be better than that…

Isn't it a good feeling when you figure out your gifting and go for it? I know the "rush" you felt...I feel it when that phone rings and there's a mama on the other end that says, "It's time!" Don't worry about finding clients...the word will get around soon enough!

Love,
Auntie Dianne

I just can't stop looking at that last photo. G&C with their huge smiles and with measuring tapes in hand. Way to go, Matt!

I'm so happy that you all had a wonderful weekend!

I am so excited for you! This is so wonderful. I love how Matt got the boys involved too. Such an act of love and kindness. I am in your same position. I know I love photography. I know I want to do more with it. But I don't seem to have many contacts. It is frustrating for me. But I'm so happy for you that you are keeping busy. More and more people will come to you, you are very talented!
