The Woes of Rolling Over…

Kaden started rolling over somewhere around four months, but that’s as far as it has gone… from back over the left side to the tummy.  He does it instantly when I put him down on the floor or in his crib and while you’d think that he’d be doing this because he prefers his tummy, you’d be wrong…

I think he likes this perspective for about 30 seconds.  He pushes up, looks around and starts to drool…

June-11,-2010-036-EAnd like clockwork, about 31 seconds after he rolled onto his tummy, he’s not very happy about it anymore… and lets us all know…

June-11,-2010-040-E2June-11,-2010-042-EIts exhausting trying to hold one’s head up while crying…

But back up the head goes, in an effort to see if anyone’s paying attention…

Okay, and down again… so defeated.

“What?? Still no one’s gonna rescue me?? Who’s idea was it to put me on my belly, anyway??” Kaden wails…

Yours big guy.  And no, I don’t find enjoyment out of watching my baby get frustrated laying on his tummy.  He needs the tummy time whether he likes it or not, and to be quite honest, even if I rolled him back onto his back, he’d find himself back in this predicament not even 10 seconds later.

And then we could repeat the entire sequence from above.  over and over and over again.

This is what we go through every time this little nugget is on the floor.  When will he learn??

(seriously, though, he is SO cute with that big ol’ lip stickin’ out!)

I just had to look at my sweet little grandson one more time before I shut down my computer for the night. What a sweetie pie.
