Pitter Patter of Little Feet...

I so wish the pitter patter of little feet in the morning could make my heart sing... am I a terrible mom if instead the THUMPING of Cooper running down the stairs at 6am makes my heart drop a little?

Kaden actually had a good 4-hour stretch last night, so when I got up with him at 5am, I thought I could muster up enough energy to stay up and visit with Matt before he left for work, and then have some mama-scrapbooking-time. Quiet time. Okay, quiet, plus the sound of my little space heater.

6am, I hear the first thump from upstairs, the bathroom door opening and then a little boy running down the steps. I know it is Cooper, because Gage is smart enough to know to send his little brother out first to see if it is safe to come out.

Nope, not safe.

This is Cooper when he first burst into my scrapbook room...

And this is him after I told him that it was too early to be up, and him and Gage needed to stay in their room and play quietly...

How can I resist that face??? Because I'll get my fill of it for the rest of the day... after 7am.

I just really wanted to finish this simple little page and this wonderful cup of coffee...

The best part was hearing on the monitor, Gage asking Cooper, "What'd she say?" "She said to stay in our room," he answered. And to that, Gage wisely replied, "I told you she'd say that."

15 minutes later...

Okay, I'm not such a stickler after all, and turns out I can't resist that face... because now Cooper is laying on the floor of my scrapbook room...

And here is another example of how smart Gage is... or just how well he knows his mama... he just ventured down but he didn't come empty-handed. He was carrying his Bible, open to a story he recognized and wanted to tell me about "the fiery furnace". I give. Mama's time is up.

And now I hear Kaden.

The day is officially beginning.

At least the scrapbook page is finished!
