Happy, Perfectly Ordinary Friday...

Our Friday morning started off with some deer watching, as they made their way down the side of our house, thankfully past my gardens, and into the hay field...

8am...

With the arrival (finally!) of some nice weather, we headed outside right after breakfast for some bikes and bubbles...

9am...

*I didn't take an pictures of this, but possibly my most blissful part of the day was when ALL 3 boys were down for naps at the same time... for 2 hours! Heaven....*
With my encouragement, Matt took a friend up on his offer to a fishing trip (I was supportive as long as he brought home a salmon), so he wouldn't be home until late. I immediately set to thinking of what we could do to fill our evening with some fun...
Enter, the Oregon Garden. I decided we'd go there after naps, but since they actually ALL slept, we didn't head out until 5 and got there with 20 minutes before closing. Oh well, I thought... it'll be at least some quick exercise. The Lord shown down on us though, when the gal behind the counter told me we could be there until dusk... PERFECT!
6pm...
looking for frogs...

walking to the Children's Garden...
you just never know what he's thinking...

discovering a fun new addition...

this is Gage's new face whenever the camera is pointed at him...

We always end up here...

... at the sandbox...

... where they always inform me that they will be paleontologists someday...

there's that face again... its okay, I'll take it! Love the weeping willow tree!

... always where we end up after a hot visit... I'd have been under there, too, if I wasn't holding my camera ... oh, and Kaden...

We had a wonderful time, as usual at the Oregon Garden. This time was especially great, though, because we were the only ones there. There was shade, silence and BEAUTIFUL flowers. And, to top it off, the boys were gems. And because of that....
7pm...

... we had dinner at McDonald's.

And after trying to take a short cut home, but ending up taking a longer, but scenic drive through Mt. Angel, we finally got home and I let the boys watch a little Curious George...
8pm...

Matt pulled in starving and tired, but with this beauty in his hands. He of course had to wake the boys up to show them his trophy (they actually weren't asleep yet)... it took him 30 years to catch one of these, after all...
9:36pm...

It ended with our house wreaking of gutted fish, but all-in-all, it was a pretty sweet day...

Uncle Craig says to tell Matt, "That's not fair!" Hopefully he'll be able to get some fishing in too :0)
